Medicare Advantage Plans in Utah
All-in-one Medicare plans that bundle hospital, medical, and usually drug coverage — often with extras like dental, vision, and hearing.
What Medicare Advantage Includes
Medicare Advantage plans (Part C) are offered by private insurers approved by Medicare. They cover everything Original Medicare covers, plus often add benefits Original Medicare doesn’t include.
Common Medicare Advantage Benefits
- Hospital and medical coverage — everything Part A and Part B cover
- Prescription drug coverage — most Advantage plans include Part D built-in
- Dental — cleanings, exams, and often more extensive work depending on the plan
- Vision — eye exams and an allowance for glasses or contacts
- Hearing — hearing exams and hearing aid coverage
- Over-the-counter (OTC) — quarterly allowances for pharmacy items
- Transportation — rides to medical appointments on some plans
- Fitness benefits — SilverSneakers or similar gym memberships
How Networks Work
Medicare Advantage plans use provider networks. Most are HMO (in-network only) or PPO (in-network preferred, out-of-network allowed at higher cost). Before choosing a plan, we always verify your doctors and preferred hospitals are in-network.
Copays and Maximum Out-of-Pocket (MOOP)
Instead of paying a percentage of every service like Original Medicare, Advantage plans typically use flat copays (e.g., $0 for primary care, $40 for specialist). Every Advantage plan also has an annual maximum out-of-pocket limit — once you hit it, the plan pays 100% for the rest of the year.
Is Medicare Advantage Right for You?
Medicare Advantage tends to make sense if:
- You want low (or $0) monthly premiums
- You want extras like dental, vision, and hearing built in
- Your doctors are in-network
- You don’t travel extensively for healthcare
- You’re generally healthy and want a budget-friendly option
Networks shift, formularies update, and benefits adjust. We do free annual reviews to make sure your Medicare Advantage plan still fits — or to switch you to one that does.
